Dr. Christine Y. Liao received her Bachelor of Medicine degree (equivalent to Doctor of Medicine in the USA) with honors from the prestigious Sun Yat-sen University, School of Medicine, in Guangzhou, China. She practiced as an ophthalmologist for almost ten years in Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center of Sun Yat-sen University after graduation. Dr. Liao went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry from The New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. She was the recipient of William R. Baldwin Scholastic Achievement Award, which honors the highest cumulative GPA excellence.
Dr. Liao is a California TLG-certified licensed optometrist. She can use therapeutic pharmaceutical agents for different eye diseases, perform lacrimal irrigation, dilation and treat glaucoma. She is also a Paragon CRT-certified optometrist and is able to perform corneal refractive therapy with Paragon CRT contact lens to control myopia. Dr. Liao has practiced in San Francisco Bay Area since her graduation.
Dr. Liao is a resident of Castro Valley. She has lived in Castro Valley with her husband and children for more than ten years. Her children are attending Castro Valley schools.
Dr. Liao speaks fluent English, Cantonese and Mandarin. She is also fond of baseball sport as she used to be a softball catcher in medical school and has become a big fan of Oakland Athletics and San Francisco Giants baseball teams.
